Teaching at MACS is social justice in action. Our purpose-driven, diverse, and highly gifted staff members could have elected to teach anywhere they wished, but they chose to work at our small, close-knit, urban school because they have each answered the calling in their lives to personally help level the playing field by dedicating their talents to delivering high-quality, heartfelt instruction in our urban high school. Our entire team is of one mind, with the insistent belief that Philadelphia students deserve the very best teachers; so it is our mission to ensure that our students are provided the same quality of teaching and staff loyalty as the most highly ranked districts in the state.

We believe that Black Lives Matter is more than just a virtue or a bumper sticker —it requires a personal commitment from talented individuals to be actual doers in reversing racial disparities on the front lines of where disparities begin, by choosing to close the persistent talent gap in urban school teaching staffs.

Do you share our calling and our passion? Do you desire to be a part of an exceptional and meaningful school culture where your hard work is an irreplaceable part of something much bigger than your subject matter? Is it your personal purpose in education to be an actual provider of racial and socioeconomic equity by insisting on being the tough, inspiring, engaging and high-standards teacher that all students deserve? If this is all part of who you are, we want to hear from you. If you feel we are a match, we would love to meet in person to get to know you, and so you can get a sense of our family-like staff, where our administrators solidly support our teachers to be the cogs of change that they are every day at our school.
